Fall Light (Magic Light)

I was walking home from an errand last Thursday and found that I couldn’t stop staring at the way the light was shining through the leaves, making them simultaneously glow and seem transparent. When I arrived home, I grabbed my camera (in this case my 105 macro lens) and replicated my walk in reverse. Light is a finicky thing, and I knew if I waited even 45 minutes, the transparency and the particular leaf color I wanted to capture would be gone. My prediction was accurate: it poured all day Friday. [Two of these pictures are from a Wednesday walk to Laurelhurst Park, where I was equally captured by the light.]
