Yesterday, in the middle of hurriedly mowing our backyard, I began to feel raindrops and started moving our ineffective push mower even faster. I glanced up to check on the impending rainclouds and found myself staring at a nearly perfect rainbow.
I could easily see 8 pronounced colors against the dark, moody sky. Then, as the rainbow melted away, the western sun fought its way out from behind a cloud, coating everything with blinding light, made all the more stunning in contrast with the almost black sky. (Oh, and despite these distractions, I managed to finish most of the mowing before the rain started!)
